RAZVAN SEVILLE PLAY TO YOUR SKILLS. ORIGINAL CHARACTER

OVERVIEW Razvan - artist, telekinetic, and art school graduate - works in the field of art history research and art restoration, and takes advantage of his telekinetic abilities to moonlight as an art thief, stealing primarily from private collections and selling them to the highest bidder. Sometimes he'll create a forgery just to see how far it can get. He was raised just outside Toronto by his Romanian aunt and uncle after the disappearance of his parents when he was a child, and developed a love for art and painting partially thanks to their eclectic collection of works. Art school and the study of art history seemed like the obvious choice for him, but despite getting a good education in something he enjoyed, he graduated with a marked bitterness about what art is, who decides its value, what is preserved and celebrated and worth millions of dollars and what isn't. Now that he has the opportunity to interfere with that - and make his own profit from it - he can't resist it. Anyone curious enough to dig into his past might find news stories about Razvan disappearing, himself, for several weeks at the age of nine, not long after the disappearance of his parents. What these stories don't mention is that he ran away; he wasn't taken. No, he doesn't want to talk about it. PERSONALITY Razvan usually looks like he's up to something — but, to be fair, that's because he usually is. His outward demeanour exists on a sliding scale of creepy, normal, schemey, and impish, but once you get past that, he's moderately outgoing and friendly - tempered by his generally subdued way of speaking - with a penchant for cracking dry jokes at his friends' expense. As a friend, he's not the most attentive, but you could do worse. Having telekinetic abilities and getting away with one too many heists has given him a slight superiority complex, and it comes through in the way he talks to people. The telekinesis has also given him a core feeling of isolation and anger; he doesn't know anyone else like him, has never felt safe enough to tell anyone about it, and a small part of him fears that his parents' disappearance - most likely abandonment, authorities concluded - was somehow related to the discovery of his ability and is therefore his fault. It's a fear he's ashamed of, so he'd be hard pressed to ever admit it. Razvan can handle a lot, physically and emotionally. He's not above asking for help, if he has to, from people he feels he can trust not to pry, or people he can safely manipulate, but he generally prefers to shoulder things himself. He's cunning and has a strong survival instinct, but doesn't always calculate things well and finds himself having to make some narrow - and sometimes violent - escapes. Traveling a lot makes relationships difficult, but when he's in one, you can bet he's lying his ass off about what he's up to, presenting a version of himself that even he doesn't fully believe. He's personable but puts himself first. He can be fussy about keeping things in order, lest they get out of control. He can and will hurt people to get himself out of danger. He's aware that what he does is wrong, but he enjoys it, he's good at it, and it's satisfying — a thrill. The money doesn't hurt, either. ABILITIES Razvan is telekinetic, an ability he discovered at a young age and has worked hard to keep secret. He can move things that he can see without touching them; the bigger the thing, the more strain it puts on him. It works kind of like an invisible hand; the telekinetic force can also hit, shove, or grapple with strength approximately equivalent to Razvan himself. He has some skill in picking locks and stays up to date on security systems, always working out how best to get around or disable them. On the more mundane side, he's a painter, skilled mainly at noticing and replicating subtleties in real life subjects and in the varied styles of others — however he hasn't done much actual painting, especially not for himself, since graduating. He's also very knowledgable about art and art history and often jokes about how burdensome that knowledge is.
